Tuesday ramblings

I am enjoying blogging once more.
I hadn't realized how great it was to visit my favourite designers that were listed on my blog.
So I am working hard to transfer those favourites over to this new blog of mine. I keep getting side tracked while viewing their blogs, lol. So much to catch up on and lots of oooh's and aahhhh's from me as I see their new designs. My cuppas nearly always grow cold!!!
Well, onward.....more friends to visit

A survey

I've spent the most part of this hot, horrible day working on a little survey on the website of Dolls on Parade.
I do love to hear what you think of the dolls I design. Good and bad comments are always, always welcome.
If you're not happy about my pattern for any reason, I want to hear about it!!!!
Check it out. xxx

I have started a group for cloth doll makers, called
Doll Makers Marketplace.

Are you interested in joining a group for chats, learning and sharing of all things doll making?
We're just starting, and welcome you from wherever in the world you are! Come and join us, help us grow.

It's Sunday 24th february!

It's going to be a hot 36C today in western Victoria. In this heat I much prefer to stay indoors with the air conditioner on. I'm not a hot weather person. :(

I have been kept busy lately making dolls for Australian magazine Creating Country Threads. Danielle (editor) likes to keep me busy, lol, and I love it.
I've just finished the 2nd project for the year, and will post it off to her during the week. And I'm about to embark on the next project for her. I'm not allowed to say before the issue comes out what dolls I have made, so you will simply have to subscribe to the mag if you like my style of doll making.

I've just noticed that I used the phrase 'my style of doll making'. I'm not sure where that came from, because I don't have a particular style that can be attributed to my doll making. As you can see from the 3 dolls pictured, they are all totally different.
So, if you like my dolls, I have to wonder what it is you like about them?

A Doll Book

My first doll book has been published by Lulu Press.

It contains patterns, instructions, diagrams, and full colour pictures for making 12 country dolls.
The book is aimed at the beginner doll maker, with lots of hints, tips and helpful information, but certainly doesn't preclude the seasoned doll maker from enjoying these new awesome patterns.
Here are a couple of the dolls that await between the pages, for you to make:
Big Berta - a winsome chook with attributes....and 2nd hand Rose, a gorgeous primitive girl

Back to Blogging

I gave up blogging some time ago, primarily because I didn't think I had anything interesting to say. My doll making had slowed down substantially, and due to some health issues, I almost gave it up.
However, I have broken through the fog so to speak, lol, and  my passion for making dolls and talking about them has been re-ignited.
I hope you will follow me as I continue my journey, and perhaps learn something from me as I learn something from you.

blessings
